A new study found that using a pastel-colored spotlight in a retail display can increase sales, and installing a fixture in a specific area of ??the store can increase the basket value by 6%.

Last year, Philips Lighting conducted the study with Globus, a major German grocer, to find lighting equipment that would increase sales.

The researchers spent two months testing different lighting conditions in the supermarket. Three backgrounds were tested, including uniform headlights in the store, regular spotlights, and a combination of spotlights and soft colored spotlights.
Traditionally, retailers have used uniform white ceiling lighting to illuminate the store. Studies have shown that the 58 spotlights used in the experiment enhance the appearance of the product by increasing the contrast.
Adding colored lighting to the ceiling also helps to differentiate the promotion area to make it more visible.
